Art Club

Description: Art Club is an afterschool program that allows students to focus on independent and collaborative art projects, follow teacher-led activities and catch up on class work. With an hour of extra art time, students are able to focus on choice-based materials and have access to mediums that may not get covered in their art classes. Students will have opportunities to create larger-scale projects, have access to the more limited materials in the room, and be able to work on long term pieces that will develop their personal portfolio.

Description: Students will play 3 vs. 3 and 5 vs. 5 organized basketball games as well as work on the basic skills and techniques involved in basketball. Sign up is first-come first- serve. The program will be capped at 25 students per day.

Description: Colonel Mustard with a Monopoly board in the library? Yes! Unwind after school with friends and a variety of board games. A selection of single-player games will also be available.

Homework Help Tuesdays

Description: Homework Help provides an opportunity for students to complete and receive assistance with their homework assignments in all subject areas. Description: This is your chance to rock out! You will play jazz, rock, funk, and pop music and learn how to solo in different contexts. You must already play a band instrument or piano, guitar, or bass.
LEGO Club

Description: LEGO Club is a fun, hands-on club where students use their creativity, problem-solving skills, and teamwork to build unique projects. Each meeting offers opportunities to design, build, and share LEGO creations. Students may work individually or in groups to explore engineering, storytelling, and design.
The club encourages imagination, collaboration, and innovation while developing important skills like critical thinking and perseverance. Whether building for fun, tackling design challenges, or working on group projects, LEGO Club is a space for all students to explore and create.
Limited to 20 students.
Gr. 6-8 Robotics

Description:
Students will work on daily STEM challenges where they will learn to use block programming to control a Robot, build structures and robots with LEGOs and learn how to research and create solutions to real-world problems. Students will also work on team building, collaboration, and presentation skills, which are an integral part of the robotics program. Our team will compete in an FLL qualifying event in early December for a chance to earn a spot in the state competition. Space is limited to 20 students.
Boys Soccer
Day: Tuesdays and Thursdays (5th and 6th grade on Tuesdays and 7th and 8th grade on Thursdays)

Description:
Students will play 7 vs 7 organized soccer games while working on technique and sportsmanship. The first 30 students will be accepted Grades 5/6 and 7/8.
Girls Soccer

Description: The students will learn about the basic skills and fundamentals of soccer. There will be different games and activities to enhance these skills while working on teamwork and sportsmanship.
Sports Talk Club

Description: The Sports Talk club is a before school program that allows students to discuss current events happening in the sports world. Students will examine a wide range of events in collegiate/professional and men’s/women’s sports, while taking turns listening to and sharing opinions in a respectful manner.
Student Council

Description: Student Council will be invitation only for grades 5-8. Students are encouraged to take on leadership roles and be the representatives for their grade and their school. Expectations are for students to participate and fulfill their obligation in service projects around the school and community. Students will have the opportunity to assist in school events as needed (Open House, Parent Teacher Conferences, School Play, etc.).
Volleyball

Description: Bump, set, SPIKE! We are excited to offer an after-school after volleyball program at PWMS. This program provides students with the opportunity to learn and strengthen fundamental volleyball skills -including serving, passing, setting and hitting, while also empathizing teamwork, sportsmanship and confidence building. Through a combination of drills, activities and game play, students will stay active in a fun and supportive environment. Participants should wear sneakers and comfortable athletic clothing. This club is open to ALL skill levels, even beginners! Sessions will be capped at 30 students.
Yearbook
Day: Tuesdays (Students in grade 8 only)

Description: Yearbook Club is for students who are interested in designing and photographing for our annual school yearbook. If you would like to be a part of creating this important memory for your school to be published at the end of the year, join yearbook club! 8th graders only, first 15 students.

Girls on the Run
We’re thrilled to announce that Girls on the Run is starting up at our school! This fun, empowering program is open to girls in grades 6-8 who want to build confidence, make new friends, and train for a 5K all while learning valuable life skills.
Practice begins soon, so be sure to sign up early! The maximum number of students allowed in this program is 15. Please note that we need a commitment to this program as many students will be enrolling!
Practices will run from 2:30-4 pm on Mondays and Tuesdays starting September 22nd and running through November 11th.
This program is designed to meet the unique needs of 6th-8th grade girls of all abilities. The program considers the whole person – body, brain, heart, spirit and social connection. Heart & Sole offers an inclusive place of belonging, where participants feel supported and inspired to explore their emotions, cultivate empathy and strengthen their physical and emotional health. At the end of the season, all team members complete a 5K walk/run which will take place on Sunday, November 16th.
No running experience needed! Just a positive attitude and a willingness to try something new!
