Basketball

Description: Students will play 3 vs. 3 and 5 vs. 5 organized basketball games as well as work on the basic skills and techniques involved in basketball. Sign up is first come first serve. The program will be capped at 25 students per day.
Board Game Club

BOKS

Description: BOKS is back! BOKS (Build Our Kids' Success) is a before school activity that gives students a chance to get some excess energy out before classes begin. Students will participate in warm-up drills, stretching exercises, and then play a physical education game such as capture the flag, kickball, relay races, and more! Students will leave BOKS each week with an appreciation for exercise and with mindfulness strategies to practice on their own.

Join us for an exciting adventure as the Middle School Drama Club takes on the delightful musical "Honk Jr.," a heartwarming and hilarious retelling of the classic story of "The Ugly Duckling." Whether you're a seasoned performer or trying drama for the first time, this production offers a wonderful opportunity to explore your creativity, build confidence, and have fun! No experience is necessary—just a passion for storytelling and a willingness to dive into the world of theater. Rehearsals will be filled with acting exercises, singing, dancing, and, most importantly, teamwork. We will work together to bring this colorful and entertaining show to life! Description: Welcome to our dynamic and energizing after-school workout program designed specifically for middle school students! This program is focused on building strength, stamina, and confidence through fun and challenging workouts. Our sessions combine circuit training, weightlifting, HIIT workouts and a variety of exercises that keep students engaged while promoting a healthy lifestyle. This program is for ALL fitness levels, from beginning to advanced. Whether your child is looking to get active or enhance their performance in their skills, this program offers the perfect balance of fitness, fun and motivation!
Garden Club

Description: Have you always wanted to grow your own flowers, vegetables, fruits, and herbs? Are you someone who loves all things GREEN? Do you want to help our community? Then come join the PWMS Garden Club. Garden Club is open all students in grades 5 – 8. It meets on Thursday mornings from 7:30 AM – 8:15 AM in Room 220. The first meeting is Thursday, March 20th! Homework Help

Description: Homework Help provides an opportunity for students to complete and receive assistance with their homework assignments in all subject areas. Students who attend Homework Help should bring the appropriate materials (ex. chrome books, pencils, notebooks) needed to access and complete their homework assignments, and students will be required to stay the full duration of the meeting (2:30 - 3:30). Students may attend one or both days (Tuesdays and Thursdays). Parents and guardians are asked to specify on sign-up form which days their child will be attending.
Point Jazz Band

Description: Jazz Band is open to band students PLUS piano, guitar, bass, and drum set players who already have experience on their instrument. We will explore different styles of music such as jazz, pop, Latin, rock, and hip hop, culminating in a performance at the spring concert on May 29. Participating students will be prepared for programs like the All-City Jazz Band and the award-winning QNQ high school jazz program.
Grade 8 MCAS Prep

Description: To prepare for the 8th Grade Science MCAS, students will review key science standards from 6th, 7th, and 8th grades through engaging hands-on lessons and activities. In addition to reinforcing science content, the class will focus on essential test-taking strategies to help students succeed on the exam. This is a great opportunity for students to collaborate with peers and receive individualized instruction. Together, they will enhance their test-taking skills, revisit important content from the past three years, and reduce test-taking anxiety. Navigators Who Code (Grades 6-8 only)

Description: This is a NEW program that will be supported by the national organization of Girls Who Code. This program is open to all students. We will be learning about computer programming and the different types of programming. It’s an opportunity for all students to learn more about and experience coding as well as collaboration in today’s technological world. Sign up is on a first come, first serve basis, since there will only be 16 seats available.
Gr. 5 Robotics

Description: Grade 5 LEGO Robotics serves as an introduction to robotics program. Students will work on daily STEM challenges where they will learn to use block programming to control a Robot, build structures and robots with LEGOs and learn how to research and create solutions to real-world problems. Students will also work on team building, collaboration and presentation skills which are an integral part of the robotics program. Please note that there are only 18 seats available and all students will be enrolled on a first come, first serve basis.

Description: Students will be working with a team to programming their robot to complete a themed mission designed by First Lego League. Students will be applying the Engineering Design Process towards an Innovation Research Project to create a solution for a real-world problem. Students will compete in Robot Mission, Robot Design, Innovation Project and Core Values. Select students from the Point Webster Robotics team will compete at the Quincy Public Schools Robotics Competition held in May at Quincy High School. Additional practice days will be added as we get closer to competition. Sign up is on a first come, first serve basis, since there will only be 30 seats available.
Boys Soccer
Day: Tuesday and Thursday (5th and 6th grade on Tuesdays and 7th and 8th grade on Thursdays)

Description: There will be full field games, mini games, and practice drills to provide students with the basics of soccer and to encourage teamwork and sportsmanship. The first 28 students will be accepted Grades 5/6 and 7/8.

Description:
The STEM Fair Club is open to Grade 6 and 7 students interested in participating in the Annual 8th Grade STEM Fair, which will take place on Thursday, March 6, 2025. Under the guidance of Ms. Chin and Ms. Cunniff, students will collaborate with a partner to create a research project and presentation, with a focus on Technology and Engineering. Using the Engineering Design Process, they will explore and develop solutions to real-world challenges and prepare a presentation for judging at the STEM Fair. This Club offers students an opportunity to explore a STEM topic of their interest and prepares valuable skills in critical thinking, confidence building, peer learning, and it hopes to inspire future interest in STEM careers. Please note, as the competition date nears, additional preparation days may be added.
Student Council

Description: Student Council will be by invitation only for grades 6-8. For grade 5, Student Council will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. Students are encouraged to take on leadership roles and be the representatives for their grade and their school. Expectations are for students to participate and fulfill their obligation in service projects around the school and community. Students will have the opportunity to assist in school events as needed (Open House, Parent Teacher Conferences, School Play, etc.).
Yearbook
